Branding for Green Templeton College

The launch of Green Templeton College marked the first merger between two colleges in the modern history of the University, creating the first of a new breed of Oxford graduate colleges.

Our brief was to emphasise the culture and heritage of the new college, and ensure that it started life with a strong and distinct visual identity. This identity is based on an interpretation of the transit of Venus across the sun in 1761. It was the lack of sufficient and appropriate facilities in Britain to observe this event that led to the building of the Radcliffe Observatory ,which is the central focus of the GTC site.
